How the checks work

Amazon’s own answer, ZIP code by ZIP code.

Checks run every day and whenever you press Check now, through Amazon’s Selling Partner API for your own products. For each ZIP code, Amazon reports which offer is featured and the price your offer would need to be featured there. Nothing is scraped, and nothing about your account is sent anywhere.

Daily checks for every tracked product, plus a manual check on demand.
Fair share: your normal share is one divided by the number of other sellers on your listing who could actually win over the last 7 days, on price, stock, shipping and fulfillment.
The ads system and the repricer read the same checks, so a lost Buy Box holds ad raises and price chases automatically.

What it never does

Changes a price. Price moves come only from the repricer rules you set.
Promises the Buy Box. It reports who wins and why.
Sends your account data to a data vendor.
